This seminar provides a well-founded overview of the complete production chain of technical elastomer parts. Special attention is given to the component quality, meaning the process steps that are particularly critical for the quality of the end product are specifically identified. Reasons for the particular complexity of elastomer processing as well as the handling of this complexity by processing companies will be dealt with as well as the main causes for the comparatively high qualitative fluctuations, which most of the elastomer products are subjected to.

After studying mechanical engineering at the KIT Karlsruhe, Mr. Timo Richter spent several years working for a worldwide manufacturer of technical elastomer products. His responsibilities included coordinating the cooperation of central process development, materials development and tool construction with several domestic and foreign production sites. The last two years he was responsible for the reliable implementation of customer requirements as a product manager in the life science sector. Since January 2018, Mr. Richter has been working as a consultant in the O-Ring-Prüflabor Richter.
